You don’t need to wait until the sun is shining to Cook Gammon Steaks on the Barbecue. This is an all year round delight.
This is a very easy recipe to compliment our gammon steaks.
Preparation time 10 mins. Cooking 8-10 mins
You will need for 4 servings:
4 x Wiltshire Bacon Co Gammon Steaks – smoked or unsmoked – your choice
200g brown sugar
1 tablespoon horseradish
2 lemons
Knob butter
& half a fresh chilli
Step 1
Get the gas on or light the charcoal and give it plenty of time to get to a good even heat.
Step 2
Take a small saucepan and heat together gently 200g brown sugar,1 tablespoon horseradish, juice of 2 lemons, a knob of butter and half of a finely chopped chilli. Don’t heat it too long as you are just looking for a good glaze with which to easily baste the gammon steaks.
Wash your hands after chopping the chilli!
Step 3
Lightly oil the barbecue grill and put the gammon steaks on. Brush or spoon the glaze on top. Turn over after 3 minutes and continue adding the glaze to the top side now for approximately another 5 minutes. Try not to overcook as it will dry the gammon and the steaks will lose all the lovely juices – just make a small cut in the thickest part and check.
Step 4
Rest the steaks for 5 minutes and Enjoy.
