Our pork is sourced from Red Tractor farms around the South West UK region, the furthest being 45 miles away-‘Food Miles’ are kept to a minimum. We only use 100% outdoor bred & reared British Pigs.
The pigs are born in outdoor systems in straw-bedded arks with access to large outdoor paddocks. Pigs are very sociable animals happily spending their day grazing and rooting around with sensitive snouts or wallowing in the mud to cool down. We firmly believe the animals should be given the utmost respect throughout their lives.
Britain is only 25% self-sufficient in bacon production meaning it imports large quantities, UK farmers complain it is produced from pigs generally raised in poorer conditions than our systems, including much of the EU.

Here at Wiltshire Bacon Company we can trace every product we produce right back to the farm – look at the label, traceability is paramount.
We work closely with our farmers, the hauliers and the people that work in the lairage ensuring our pigs are cared for to the highest standards.
Every farmer has an ID mark on their pigs, every processing facility in the food chain has an ID mark and as curers, we have an ID mark as well to ensure our product can be traced.
On each of our product labels is a batch code, the farmer’s name and ID mark linking it back to our data giving our customers a 100% British guarantee.
